Anaconda Montana
Anaconda, Montana sits in the southwestern part of the state
near the Anaconda-Pintler Wilderness. It is in Deer Lodge County,
which as of 2004 had a population of 9,000 - most of that in
the town itself. It is only six miles from I-90, and less than
a half-hour drive from Butte.

Anaconda.
- The Hearst Free Library - Nice library, classic old building.
- Georgetown Lake - 18 miles west of town, this 2800-acre
lake sits nestled in the mountains.
- Bannack Ghost Town - about 30 miles west of Anaconda.
- Casinos - a dozen or more in town, all with nickel and quarter
slot machines.
- Rocky Mountain Brewing - a new (2007) brew pub and restaurant.
- Mount Haggin Recreation Area - 10 miles south (the 10,600-foot
mountain overlooks the town).
- Classic Architecture - many buildings are on the National
Register Of Historic Sites.
